There's a new children's book called Why We Don't Eat Animals by Ruby Roth. Its aim is to encourage children to think about the emotional lives of animals and to make the connection between the animals they grow up learning to love and what ends up on their plates.
Do Animals Suffer?
All vertebrates share the neurochemical pathways that underlie pain perception. Nonhuman animals have a similar capacity to suffer as humans.
Nonhuman animals suffer from fear, anxiety, cold, loneliness, hunger, thirst, frustration and boredom.
